State awards

Order of Friendship, Award pin Golden Cross of FMBA of Russia, 4th degree Award pin Academician IV Kurchatov of the Federal Atomic Energy Agency, Burnazyan Medal. In 2013 for the merits in the sphere of public health services and for the long-standing dedicated work Professor Akleyev was awarded with the Diploma of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Prof. A.V. Akleyev’s field of scientific interests includes radiobiology, radiation medicine and radiation safety. The major lines of his research encompass low dose/low dose-rate medical-biological effects, as well as biological markers of chronic radiation exposure, exposure dose, susceptibility to radiation effects, and of radiation effects themselves. Under scientific supervision of prof. A.V. Akleyev 5 doctoral and 25 PhD dissertations were defended. On the initiative and under the presidency of Prof. A.V. Akleyev six International Conferences devoted to the effects of low dose/ low dose rate radiation exposure were held in Chelyabinsk. Prof. A.V. Akleyev authored 630 scientific papers, including 37 monographs.
