Principal duties:

  • inpatient, outpatient and expeditionary examination of persons exposed to radiation in order to reveal radiation effects
  • development and implementation of new methods of prophylaxis, diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of radiation pathology and its consequences
  • analysis of the health status of exposed population and their offspring in accordance with the findings of clinical and laboratory examination, assessment of demographic parameters
  • elaboration and clinical reasoning of the potential application of methods of biodosimetry and bioindication of radiation exposure
  • development of methods of individualized assessment of radiation health effects risk in man
  • analysis of psychological health status of exposed population and their offspring
  • analysis and risk assessment of psychogenetic radiation effects in offspring of the population affected by chronic radiation exposure
  • development of a complex system directed to provide psychological-psychiatric assistance in case of radiation accidents
  • monitoring of the health status of the exposed population offspring on the basis of population genetic, genealogical, genetically-epidemiological, twin and other methods of research, in accordance with the findings of clinical-genetic and laboratory examination of the exposed population offspring and in utero exposed persons
  • development of methods of diagnostics, monitoring, and prophylaxis of potential medical-genetic effects of population radiation exposure
